Everything was excellant, had an excellent stay for two nights. The room was neat and airy with own bathroom. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, a separate shower worked well. The location was magnificent right in the centre of town. Café Clarendon's Cafe located 1 km away was a nice surprise: )

the hotel is located right next to the main market place and within walking distance to excellent restaurants. 2. I was pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to a lovely double room with strong wifi connectivity.

The hotel is clean and offers a fantastic location in close proximity to all that Barnard Castle has to offer, including shops, the castle, and the Bowes Museum. the stay at Newgate House was really comfortable for two nights.

Friendly staff and welcoming host made our stay enjoyable. Convenient location in the heart of town, within walking distance of a museum and a castle 🏰. Evenings were well spent at the Turks Head nearby, soaking up the lively atmosphere with drinks.
